The artist known as "Woet Edwin," is a talented maker living in Auckland. He began his creative journey as a self-taught photographer and worked as a welder. His love for art led him to apply to art schools. In 2003, he started studying at Ucol School of Photography in Palmerston North. This experience introduced him to all of the important photographic artists since its begining, they taught him how to create prints in a dark room and develop film, how to matt and present prints to industry standards. Later, from 2011 to 2014, he attended Elam School of Fine Arts, where he continued to explore his passion for art. This incredible experience expanded his use of other mediums and conceptual ideas adding then more variety to his already developed documentary style of photography.
